Winners of the Koinup FB Timeline Cover Contest

After one week of time to vote, here's the announcement of the winners of the Koinup FB Timeline Cover Contest - the contest that we launched in order to create a new brand cover for the Koinup Facebook Timeline.

According to the rules, the winning works are the ones with the most higher - cumulative - number of votes (Koinup favorites and Facebook likes are considerated votes). Koinup visitors and members are the judges of the contest.

A New Photo Contest at Koinup

The team behind NeoVictoria, the well known Second Life Roleplaying Sim, is running an interesting photo contest on Koinup. Basically, the participants are requested to take photos that represent the spirit of this amazing sim and submit them to the group. Koinup launching the Virtual Diversity Contest

A couple of days ago, we launched on Koinup the Virtual Diversity Contest. The Competition goal is to collect the countless diversity of avatars, based on the assumption that behind any avatar there's a real person, and overall that the avatar is a mirror of the unique personality of the "person behind".

Only a few hour after the announcement, there were already about 100 members in the group (now are more than 150) and dozens of interesting submissions.

From cyborgs to dragon-like avatars, to hyper-realistic 3d characters, the virtual diversity contest is becoming more and more a showcase of the countless meta-diversity (read it as a neologism for "metaverse diversity")

Museo del Metaverso, that will kindly provide its gallery for the upcoming exhibition with the winning images of avatars, and MondiVirtuali.it, media partner of the initiative, helped us with the promotion of the contest, by calling to action their own communities of virtual worlds and metaverse members.

We saw also a series of positive reactions and followups from bloggers and opinion leader as meerkat messerchmitt and Savoree Ledesir

Show off your "virtual art" on Koinup

The new year just started and we have already some amazing art challenges and initiatives on the run at Koinup. At first, Koinupping talents, the art challenge group founded by Antario Denja, just announced the winners of the december Koinupping talents contest. The competition was about the theme of "hot and cold" and the two winners are the amazing and so popular koinup members Aria and Link (winning images below).






As you know, Koinup is the fav gateway for all kind of virtual creativity, so it could happen to stumble art from all the virtual worlds. All the Koinup visitors interested in the Sims and the Sims Art could show off their talents, by joining a series of contests launched by Sims2Cri, the admin of the Sims2Cri Art group. Koinup Homepage Contest

All in Koinup is about the community: the contents, the groups, the initiative and soon even the homepage. We just launched the Koinup Homepage Challenge, whose goal is recruiting the most amazing images of virtual worlds, published on Koinup and feature them in the Koinup front page.

COLORE group announcing a new Second Life photo contest

One of the most large community in Koinup "The COLORE" group is now announcing a new SL photo contest open to all Second Life members. The new themed contest is around the concept of: "feathers". The contest starting date is the 3th of November 2010 and the submission time will stop at 3th December 2010. The participants will be judged by the two admis of the COLORE group: LookatmyBack and Baroque.

In order to participate you have to join the COLORE group, submit your entries to the pool and post the url of submissions in the dedicated discussion thread

Enjoy virtual art and photography contests on Koinup

If you love virtual art and virtual worlds, you can't miss the following two competitions active right now on Koinup. The first one is the PaisleyPark Photo Contest. You can get all the info and take part in the competition, by joining this group. Basically, the PaisleyPark Photo Contest is more a series of challenges than a simply contest. In order to be eligible for the competition, you must wear and/or use "something in the Paislay Park Sim, take photos and submit to the group page. The other interesting project, you can join while on Koinup, it's the "funny and playful art and avatars" group. Founded by Greenduke aka Mario Gerosa the group's goal is to recruit images and artworks with an "ironic or playful attitude" possibly inspired from pop culture. The winners will be published and featured in the upcoming issue of Metaverse Creativity, a scientific magazine with focus on virtual worlds and virtual creativity. The submissions will be judged by an authoritative panel of judges, made up by Mario Gerosa, italian journalist and writer, Peter Ludlow (Alphaville Herald) and Alpha Auer (Metaverse Creativity)

The Virtual Halloween Photo Contest

Harper Ganesvoort, Second life blogger and opinion leader, is running a very cool "halloween photo contest". In order to take part in the contest you must join the Wizards and Sorceresses group and submit your virtual worlds screenshots. The 1 Minute Machinima Contest: Extended for two weeks the submission time

We extended of about two weeks "The 1 Minute Machinima Contest". Now participants have until 14th of june to enter their submissions! The 1 Minute machinima contest is an initiative powered by Koinup and Moviestorm aimed at promoting the machinima diffusion and culture.

Participants of the contest are asked to submit a video created with the Moviestorm software(less than 1 minute lenght) on Koinup. The winner will receive a one year subscription to Moviestorm and will be promoted on both the Moviestorm and Koinup websites. Runners up will also be promoted on both sites.
