Photo Session. Review of your works

This week, Zephyru Zapedzki will offer you a mentor review. Join us today, Thursday 16th of July at 11.00am SLT in the Orange Island Photo Gallery and get your work appraised by a color specialist.

Zeph is a painter in RL and deeply passionated about colors theory. This is the final session about our intense colours class. You are pleased to come and ask him to give a friendly review of your use of colours in your work.

In order to practise what we learnt, last Thursday, Zeph asked us to prepare some works related to the main aspects of using colors:

* Color combinations : you can use Color Scheme to play with the color combinations. Look at these posts if you need a refresher: first session transcript and second transcript
* World environment editor: for that, you’d be better put your graphic preferences to High. Please look at the transcript.
* Prim lights: please look at the transcript.
* Post-processing with Paint.net.

Photo Sessions members are asked to send their work inworld to Natty Foggarty or Zephyry Zapedzki in copy mode. A selection will then be exhibited on the Orange Island Photo Gallery.

Post-precessing Colors / Color...

This week, Zeph will briefly introduce the basics of post-processing colors. This will also be the occasion to ask him everything that comes in your mind about colors.

Then, he will ask you to practise the technique we’ve studied during last classes by making pieces respecting three guidelines (color combinations, windlight endless combinations, prim light studio). Please send it to me or Zeph inworld with your name on it. The pictures will be then exhibited on the Orange Island Photo Gallery.

Next week, Zeph will review your work, a good occasion to discuss about each other works.

Photo Session: making your own presets for the FilterCam HUD

Join us this coming Thursday 14th of May at 11.00 am SLT on the Orange Island Photo Gallery for an introduction to the FilterCam HUD created by Codebastard Redgrave.

The session will consist in a short presentation of the HUD and a class about adding your own texture masks and creating your own presets for the FilterCam.

The FilterCam HUD is a very handy tool that allows you to make your SL snapshots much more attractive without using Photoshop or any other post-processing tool. FilterCam works basically like a standard camera filter and uses four distinctive layers to make various effects combos. But the most important is in our opinion the Build your own presets feature: you can add colored filters, overlay textures, and change layer transparency directly on your screen.

If you want to know more, have a look at http://vimeo.com/3401209. If you are using this HUD, we recommend you follow the instructions on Mechanized Life.

You can watch some works made with FilterCam published on Koinup by Solange Korobase and Clarrice Cinquetti.

Photo Sessions are a series of events in Second Life dedicated to help photographers share and collaborate. Orange Island and Koinup partner to make instructive events for SL Photgraphers and especially the Second Life Comunity on Koinup. We host events every Thursday at 11.00am SLT.

Codebastard Redgrave just created a group called: FilterCam Exchange whose mission is: to allow people to exchange FilterCam transparency masks through Koinup.
