Utherverse - From Red Light to Live Music?

Utherverse, best known for adult virtual worlds The Redlight Center, RudeVirtual and Virtual-Vancouver has been trying for a couple of years to extend its entertainment value beyond "just sex" to live events such as art auctions and you guessed it, live music.

Speaking to a canada.com writer in 2007, Utherverse CEO Brain Shuster explains the dilemma:

"We played around with a variety of ways to bring people into a virtual world, and what we found is they're very interested in going to nightclubs and parties, but without first having the sex we just couldn't keep people around," Shuster said. "By introducing the sex first we built up this enormous community of users and, of course, after 30 minutes of sex, they're looking to have a cigarette and find something else to do. So now we'll give you a concert."

Rocking the Metaverse is going to hit Twinity, for the second time, this summer. Today, the stars of the RtM show will going to put their energy in the new virtual district Singapore. The today is show is called Raving the Metaverse and it will feature the awesome Doubledown Tandino and Slim Warrior. They will dj for your delightment from 11AM SLTime (20:00 Amsterdan/Rome Time) to 2PM (23:00 Amsterdam/Rome Time). The mission of Rocking the Metaverse is to bring live music in all the virtual worlds (all the metaverse) and raise the bar of entertainment in virtual worlds. Virtual Worlds are innovative and engaging stages to play, enjoy and interact with live music. Rocking the Metaverse. From Orange Island to Active Worlds Europe

Yesterday was an amazing show at the Orange Island. MOshl Kumachi, Grace Mcdunnough, Slim Warrior, Doubledown Tandino delighted the public with a perfect exhibition.

At the same time, and for the first time in the metaverse, the show was broadcasted in Twinity. It was such a fantastic experience to see a bunch of twinizens dancing on the notes of the RtM musicians!

On 7th of july, the musicians will perform at the Orange Island (Second Life), on 14th of july, the crew will move to Active Worlds Europe. On 21th, we are headed at Metaplace. Rocking the Metaverse fans take the stage in Twinity.

Yesterday was a fantastic day for the Metaverse at Twinity. The Rocking the Metaverse performers played for some hours with the Brandenbourg gate as backdrop, in front of dozens of people, fans, Twinity members. Twinity staff did an excellent work, by creating a stage, setup the streams and funnel all the people at the show. DD Tandino, Dizzy Banjo, Grace Mcdunnough, Slim Warrior played great music and the fans excited......take the stage at some point.




Rocking the Metaverse is the bed test for the interoperability among virtual worlds. It is so great to cross virtual worlds, meeting people and spreading creativity. Each venue has its own style and advantage. Metaplace was easy and funny, Second Life was immersive, Opensim was pioneristic and Twinity was incredible realistic (if you don't have a Twinity account, create one, now)

Dear guys, yesterday was a fantastic hit at Metaplace. DD Tandino, Dizzy Banjo, Slim Warrior, Grace Mcdunnough make a great show and there were literally hundreds of people dancing in the Rocking the Metaverse world created by the Metaplace staff.

Let me personally say thank you to Cuppycake, community manager at Metaplace (Cuppy is also a multiworld user and koinup member since some weeks).

The Koinup “Rocking the Metaverse” live music tour is hitting Metaplace on Tuesday June 2nd, at 1pm Pacific time (SLT), after having been to Orange Island in Second Life, and ReactionGrid (an OpenSim world). After Metaplace comes Twinity.
